A Word on Quality
General Contractors are pushed to complete by scheduled deadlines and for the
most part complete those estimated schedules. The saying Time is Money is indeed
true, the hectic schedule does have casualties in quality. "Quality" means many
things to many people, to clearly define it so that all can understand would be the
completing of specifications pre- determined. Just because it meets international,
national or state and local building codes does not mean to say that you will have a
good quality construction project. The purpose of hiring a consultant would have the
owners interests more so than the general contractor in that the contractor desires
to do the job for as much money as possible with the most profit. It stands to
reason a paid consultant is paid for saving as much as possible at the same time
generating punch lists to be completed by the contractor to ensure that quality is
maintained.
